Results and objectives at the end of year review

A day full of presentations, future objectives planning, and wine tasting were all part of Roiback’s annual event that we carried out last week in Porreres (Mallorca), to present the results of the 2018 financial year.

Roiback’s family keeps on growing and in this occasion, more than 100 Palma based Roiback peers from across different departments attended the annual event including people from Web Development, IT, Finance & Strategy, Digital Marketing, Product Development & Marketing and Comms, among others. They were able to know firsthand the objectives achieved during this year and some of the challenges we will face in the coming months.

The event kicked off with Roiback’s Managing Director, Rebeca Gonzalez, announcing last financial year’s results and thanking the team for their great efforts as they successfully reached all targets set. Following Rebecca’s speech, leads from all teams had the opportunity to explain what their key objectives are for the year to come making sure all colleagues are well aligned with each department’s goals and the business strategy overall.

Some of the points highlighted during this session were announcing the excellent reception that Mobilis Pro has had. Rebeca stressed that it’s the most leading product on the market and wanted to congratulate the team that is dedicated exclusively to the mobile web, encouraging them to continue working with the same enthusiasm to continue growing. She also announced that in early 2019 we will launch the new Roiback booking engine (Backhotel 5.0), a leading solution that has been awarded internationally for three consecutive years and that in its new version significant improvements and functionalities will be added.

Other topics discussed included Roiback’s new partnership with Google as well as the team’s focus on reinforcing IT organization to ensure future growth. This was a great opportunity for colleagues to get a clear understanding of what’s coming and enable them to incorporate those objectives into their own personal goals for next year.

We also had the great pleasure of having the presence of Jose Yudici, Commercial Director and Corporate Development of our collaborating hotel chain, Blau Hotels and Resorts. Jose shared with the attendees the commercial strategy of his company and spoke about the decisive bet of the hotel chain through the direct channel. "There is no going back, in Blau we want the best profitability of our hotels and the direct channel is for us a priority." Jose highlighted the excellent results in this first year of collaboration with Roiback and thanked everyone for "putting on Blau's shirt and turning the cake over." Finally, he encouraged everyone to continue paddling in the same direction and thus achieve all the objectives set by the Mallorcan chain during the coming years.

The event wrapped up with a wine tasting where the teams were divided into two groups and toured the facilities of Can Feliu winery to learn about the process of making the different wines that are prepared in these Mallorcan vineyards and, of course, there was time to taste them before, during and after lunch.

At the end of this month our colleagues in LATAM will meet in Medellín, Colombia, to celebrate a similar event aimed at engaging teams in the Americas (Mexico, Miami and Colombia) and also get them on board with the Roiback’s strategy and objectives for the coming months. We will keep you posted!
